The thinking is that lading in Paris and staying for a couple of days then travelling by train to the major Itailian cities staying in moderate hotels followed by renting a car and moving into Tuscany to enjoy the country side. We would like to stay for three weeks (give or take) ... I have just one suggestion: for a first trip it is nice to stay in a hotel rather than an apartment so you have a concierge or desk clerk to help you with directions and reservations, etc. ...
